Sustainability Product

Häcker Kitchens are characterized by the highest degree of sustainability. They are carbon-neutral, energy-efficient and certified for healthy living. The lacquers used are water-based. Some of our lacquer laminate fronts even have a high recycled content.

Award

Häcker GmbH & Co. KG received the "Golden M" award from the Deutsche Gütegemeinschaft Möbel e.V. (DGM) the award "Golden M" for the high quality as well as exemplary health and environmental protection. The DGM's testing criteria include current quality, environmental and emission standards, with a particular focus on the product’s durability, stability and manufacturing quality. water based lacquers

Häcker cooperates with the renowned manufacturer ADLER Lacke, which produces more than two-thirds of its products on a water basis. This has multiple advantages for nature as well as for the consumer. The surfaces are resistant, feel good and look perfect. They also contribute to a positive ecological balance, as they sustainably protect and refine the renewable, natural raw material wood. Water-based coating materials produce about 90 percent less solvent during processing. Waterborne coatings from ADLER are therefore environmentally friendly and extend the life of the wood.
This supports Häcker Kitchens' sustainability philosophy for a clean environment and a premium lacquer finish.

Häcker predominantly uses an environmentally friendly water-based lacquer system and lacquer laminate with a high recycled content (>50%). In order to keep the ecological footprint as small as possible here, the innovative recycling product is sourced from a manufacturer in the North Rhine - Westphalia region. This means short delivery routes, with low resource consumption and maximum quality stability.

Healthy living – low-formaldehyde wood materials

Our solution: PURemission

Health is our most valuable asset. Medical progress, a balanced diet, but also an appropriate living environment make a major contribution to a healthier lifestyle. An important building block in this is formaldehyde.

What is formaldehyde?

Formaldehyde is an unbound, volatile, organic compound that is used in the production of wood-based materials in common binders – e.g. in glues and resins based on urea, melamine or phenol. When present above a certain threshold in the air, it is harmful to human health.

Our contribution

Through careful selection of wood materials and our suppliers, we have been able to meet the more stringent guidelines of emissions in accordance with US CARB2 (93120) and TSCA title 6. The maximum values of the European guidelines emission class E1 are met and in some areas even far undercut. With PURemission, we have created the best conditions for clean indoor air, setting standards for our customers and for a better environment.

PUResist

Safety in the presence of moisture – PUR gluing of edges

Why PUResist?

With the innovative PUResist gluing technology, we achieve the highest quality properties for all edges. They are water repellent and are characterized by high resistance.

Tested in detail

In order to keep the quality promise, the materials are regularly tested in the Häcker test laboratory for their resistance to water vapour, damp and alternating climates. The test scenario simulates extreme conditions that far exceed the actual loads to be expected. Häcker is technically capable of providing narrow parts with a water-resistant edging that meets the highest quality and visual requirements. Whether hot steam or splashing water – a Häcker kitchen is protected all around in a sustainable way.

Our contribution

The high-quality "PUResist" gluing is consistently used for all edges.
A formaldehyde- and solvent-free polyurethane reaction adhesive is used for this purpose.
